DANI HAS BEEN WRITING SINCE SHE COULD READ.
Dani suffered from a condition of being perpetually sick of reality, but was cured when she discovered the magic of splitting her time between the real world and the place of her imagination. She wrote stories as a child about everything from bunny rabbits to boyfriends, and her writing matured into poetry and lyrical short fiction as she graduated high school.
Dani couldn’t wait to go to the University of Texas at Austin and major in English. Though she may have had some delusions about how much she’d be able to read, she took a creative writing course with David Wevill and knew she’d found her home. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in English and secondary teaching certification, Dani began to write for the audience she loved most — young adults.
She is active in a writing group, attends the DFW Writers’ conference, and was selected to attend A Week in Residency with Nova Ren Suma. She is currently seeking representation for her YA fantasy, MOONSTRUCK.
